Tritium (3H or T) is an isotope of hydrogen with 2 neutrons and 1 proton. It is unstable, and its low health health risk allows it to be used in applications such as self illuminating substances, a role which used to be filled by radium , which is more highly radioactive and bone seeking, similarly to calcium and strontium .
