Protactinium-234, 234Pa, or 234Protactinium was the first isotope discovered. It was discovered in 1913 by chemist Kasimir Fajans and OH Göhring and named brevium. Since it is within the range of 232Pa and 240Pa, it is subject to Beta Minus(β) decay, rather than alpha decay such as all other Protactinium isotopes less then or equal to 231Pa .
