The American Chemical Society is United States professional society. Founded in 1876, the ACS is dedicated to research and education of Chemistry. It currently has more than 161,000 members and publishes 32 journals. All degree levels and chemical fields are accepted. The ACS also published Chemical and Engineering News. C&EN is a weekly magazine that serves as the primary publication for the society.

A 501(c) organization, the ACS holds biyearly meetings, with the next one sceduled for August 22 in Boston, MA. ACS also sponsers several smaller conferences throughout the year.
